Finding the root cause of a failure is never easy, but without proper testing, it becomes impossible. Metaltest is here to help you discover the reasons for failure and develop methods and processes to prevent future failure.

With a Metaltest Failure Analysis you'll receive detailed, actionable data you can use to correct the failure point. Whether it is traced to a specific property of the material used, or to a specific process in your production, you'll know exactly what went wrong, and you'll have a good idea of how to fix it.

Metaltest's Failure Analysis may consist of any of the following:

  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Origin of Failure Analysis
  • Failure Mode Analysis
  • Avoidance Recommendations

Our methodology includes five major phases.

  • Initial Investigation - In which we obtain all pertinent background information
  • Catalog Evidence - Collect and collate all physical evidence from the failure.
  • Testing - Which may include non-destructive testing, chemical analysis, mechanical testing and metallographic examination of the failed parts.
  • Evidence Interpretation - We amass the collected evidence and test results and formulate our conclusions.
  • Make Recommendations - We present our conclusions and recommendations for remedial action.

With our recommendations in hand you'll be able to move forward, make the appropriate changes to materials or processes and get back on track.
